Respiratory medicine
Respiratory medicine deals with the prevention, detection and treatment of diseases of the lungs, the bronchi, the pleura and the mediastinum.
How we can help
The conditions we regularly look after in our practice include:
- bronchial asthma, including its severe forms
- COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and pulmonary emphysema
- chronic cough of unclear origin
- pulmonary fibrosis and other interstitial lung diseases
- bronchiectasis (permanently widened bronchi)
- diseases of the pleura and the chest wall
- occupational lung diseases
- follow-up care in lung neoplasia (tumour disease)
- breathlessness (dyspnoea) of unclear origin — including the distinction from cardiac causes
Every treatment begins with a detailed conversation and a physical examination, primarily of the thoracic organs. On that basis we decide together with you which further diagnostic steps make sense.
The examinations behind it
You will find an overview of the individual measurements and tests on our diagnostics page.
