These are the examinations we carry out in our practice.
Examinations in our practice
- Clinical examination, primarily of the thoracic organs
- Spirometry
- Body plethysmography
- Body plethysmography and measurement of the diffusion capacity
- Non-specific challenge test with methacholine (individual appointments, specific questions)
- Blood gas analysis at rest and, where indicated, under exertion (individual appointments, specific questions)
- Assessment of type 2 inflammation of the airways, the FeNO measurement, available as a self-pay service only
- Small skin prick test, large skin prick test, laboratory IgE and IgG determinations (in the laboratory)
Sleep studies
- Diagnostic polygraphy (screening examination, measured at home)
- Therapeutic polygraphy (monitoring of CPAP, APAP or BiPAP therapy and of mandibular advancement devices, measured at home)
- Diagnostic polysomnography (in the sleep laboratory)
- Therapeutic polysomnography (initiation, monitoring and adjustment of PAP therapy, pressure titration, in the sleep laboratory)
Before the examination
If you are coming to a respiratory specialist for the first time and diagnostic testing is planned, please do not use any bronchodilator medication on the morning of the examination, if that is possible for you. For follow-up examinations, please take your inhaled medication as usual.
